Light on New Material

We saw David Sedaris when he was in town last year, and absolutely loved the performance. He seemed less engaged with his own material this time around, and more than 2/3 of it was the same or very similar content as last time. This show is basically him reading two of his stories that were already published, then reading some amusing entries from his own diary, and then a brief Q&A session. The show absolutely stopped for a solid five minutes right in the middle, where he took the opportunity to hawk another author's book (which was for sale in the lobby). This was an unwanted commercial advertisement during a show which we paid to attend. This was a disappointing experience, but if you haven't already seen the show you may react more positively.
